Projects that is worth knowing
Here ara listed some projects I contributed to. The list is not complete, these are just those I believe to be more remarkable.
- Autistici/Inventati, “Our objective is to liberate spaces on the web where we can discuss and work on two levels: on the one hand, the right to and need for free communication privacy, anonimity and access to telematic resources; on the other, projects linked to social reality. […]”. (From the manifesto.)
- Synusia, the now lethargic Padova’s hacklab.
- Acquario and Pollaio, the student-run study rooms and student’s library of the Department of Physics of the University of Padua. This is the best “social experiment” (let’s call it this way) I ever met.
- StalkeR*eloaded, collettivi singolari & digitali. Something between CC-licensed electronic music, community-supported agriculture, human rights support and digital divide fighting. See the old website also.
- FSUG Padova, the Free Software Users Group of Padova, formerly known as “Pluto Padova”. The group adheres to the Pluto Project.
- HackIT. Since 1998 the Italian Hackmeeting is an annual gathering of individuals, digital counterculture and various groups holding an active and creative attitude towards technology.
I also want to mention some projects to which I didn’t personally partecipate but I’m somehow close to.
- Indivia, an italian network of indipendent servers.
- oziosi.org, dalla gestione di un server alla liberazione dei corpi.
- Faber Libertatis, an association focused on reducing the digital divide by recycling old hardware and spreading the culture of Free Software.
- Indymedia, the Independent Media Center. See also Indymedia Italia and de.indymedia.org.
Friends
Somebody could call this “social networking” :)
- Wintersoul (aka Riccardo Carracoi, aka Rastam0n).
- Djamil Legato (aka w00fz), proud MooTools developer and web engineer.
- Tito Dal Canton (aka altivec), and the whole Metalabs.
